
Process and ChemicalArtificial Lift and Beam Pumping Operations
Most producing wells cannot lift their own fluid for most of their life, and the lift method chosen determines both production rate and the cost of keeping the well running. This course concentrates on beam pumping, the most widely installed method, within the wider context of artificial lift. Delegates work through inflow performance and the relationship between drawdown and rate, sucker rod pump components and operation, and the surface unit including counterbalance and its correct setting. Dynamometer card interpretation is the core skill taught, followed by failure analysis for rods, tubing and pumps, and optimisation to raise production without shortening equipment life.
