Manufacturing and ProductionApparel Quality Assurance and Inspection Systems
A garment order is accepted or rejected on a sample drawn at the end, which means a factory that inspects only at final audit finds out about its defects when the whole order is already made. This course moves the control forward. Delegates work through the buyer's quality requirements and how a specification, a size chart and a tolerance table are actually read. Inline inspection and traffic light systems are covered, since catching a defect at the operation is cheaper than at the table by a wide margin. Statistical sampling is addressed properly: acceptable quality limits, sample sizes and what accepting on a plan really means. Defect classification into critical, major and minor follows. Measurement checking and grading issues are covered. Final random inspection and preparing for a third party auditor are addressed. Root cause analysis on recurring defects follows. The course closes on corrective action that holds and on the cost of quality in a garment factory.
