Air Cargo Operations and Handling

Air freight is bought when time matters more than cost, and the time saved in the air is routinely lost on the ground to documentation, screening and capacity that was never confirmed. This course covers the whole movement. Delegates work through the air cargo chain and the parties in it, capacity, rates and the difference between actual and volumetric weight that determines what you pay, and booking and space confirmation. Documentation including the air waybill is covered. Build up, unit load devices and acceptance standards follow. Security screening and known consignor arrangements are addressed. Special cargo including dangerous goods, perishables and pharmaceuticals is covered. The course closes on delay, damage and claims under the applicable liability regime.
