Manufacturing and ProductionAerosol Products Manufacturing and Safety
An aerosol is a pressurised container filled with flammable propellant on a line where a leak becomes an explosive atmosphere, which makes the safety case inseparable from the production process. This course treats them together. Delegates work through aerosol construction: can, valve, actuator and dip tube, and the way each affects spray pattern. Propellant selection is covered across liquefied and compressed gases with the pressure and flammability each brings. Product concentrate formulation follows for the main categories. Filling is addressed in operational detail: pressure filling and cold filling, crimping and the crimp dimensions that determine whether a valve seals. Leak testing in the water bath is covered. Pressure and temperature limits are addressed, along with the can specification that supports them. Fire and explosion control on the filling line is covered, including ventilation, ignition control and separation distances. Storage and transport classification follow. The course closes on quality checks, on can corrosion and on complaint investigation.
Course objectives
