
Procurement and MaterialsMaterials Management and Inventory Control
This course covers the practical management of materials from receipt through storage to issue, with a strong focus on inventory accuracy, stock control methods and warehouse discipline. Delegates work through demand forecasting, reorder point calculations, stock take procedures and slow moving stock strategies applicable to manufacturing, mining and public sector stores. Emphasis is placed on reducing stockouts and excess inventory simultaneously.

- Apply ABC and other classification methods to prioritise inventory control effort
- Calculate reorder points, safety stock and economic order quantities accurately
- Design receiving, put away and issue procedures that protect stock integrity
- Plan and execute physical stock counts and reconcile variances correctly
